chrome extension · link checker

Every link on the page, checked in one click.

LinkScout scans a page's links, highlights what's actually broken right on the page, and exports the results — without the false "broken" reports antibot systems trigger in every other checker.

how it works

Honest status, not a guess

Most link checkers report a page as "broken" the moment an antibot system throws a challenge page back at them — which is most of the modern web. LinkScout separates the two failure modes instead of collapsing them into one wrong answer.

Client scan
Runs entirely in your browser: collects every link on the page and checks it directly — no server involved.
Honest status
A link that looks broken because of a bot challenge gets marked AMBIGUOUS, not BROKEN — and can be rechecked from the browser itself, where challenges resolve normally.

LinkScout is distributed directly for now — Chrome won't install a downloaded .zip in one click, so it's a short manual load:

Download the .zip above and unzip it anywhere on disk.

Open chrome://extensions in a new tab.

Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).

Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
